Lindsay Thomas, born on February 29, 1988, is a former professional Australian rules footballer. He played for two teams in the Australian Football League (AFL): North Melbourne and Port Adelaide.

Lindsay Thomas's AFL Journey
Starting His Career
Lindsay Thomas was chosen by the North Melbourne Kangaroos in the fourth round of the 2006 AFL Draft. He came from the Port Adelaide Magpies team. In his very first pre-season game, he showed great skill. He kicked four goals against Collingwood in the NAB Cup.
Thomas played his first official AFL game in Round 1 of the 2007 season. He didn't score any goals in that game. However, he did kick five behinds in a match against Collingwood.
Key Seasons and Achievements
In 2010, Thomas was the top goalkicker for North Melbourne. He scored 29 goals that season. This included an amazing 7 goals in one game against Carlton in Round 12.
The 2011 season was a bit tough for Thomas. He had trouble kicking accurately at goal. At one point, he was even taken out of the main team. He finished that season with 21 goals and 36 behinds.
In 2012, Thomas worked hard to improve his accuracy. He kicked 38 goals and only 19 behinds for the season. This was his highest number of goals in a season so far. He played 19 games that year. He only had three games where he didn't score any goals. In Round 12, 2012, he played his 100th AFL game against Gold Coast. Later that year, he signed a new two-year contract with North Melbourne.
The year 2013 was Thomas's best season. He scored an impressive 53 goals. He also finished seventh in the Coleman Medal race. This award is given to the player who kicks the most goals in the AFL season. He was the highest-ranked small forward for that year.
In the 2014 season, Thomas continued to play well. He kicked 45 goals and played in 23 games. He kept up his strong performance in 2015 and 2016. He scored 34 goals in 2015 and 37 goals in 2016. He played in almost all games during these seasons.
Moving to Port Adelaide
North Melbourne decided not to keep Thomas at the end of the 2017 season. However, Port Adelaide was interested in him. They chose him in the 2017 AFL rookie draft.
Thomas played his first game for Port Adelaide in Round 5 of the 2018 season. He kicked one goal in that game. Port Adelaide lost to Geelong by 34 points.
