Lisa Donovan, born on June 11, 1980, is an American entrepreneur and actress. She was one of the first big stars on YouTube. She started a company called Zappin Productions, which made popular online videos. She also created and leads The Pattern, an app that helps people learn about themselves using astrology.
Donovan began her career as one of YouTube's first content creators. She later helped start Maker Studios, a large network for YouTube videos. The Walt Disney Company bought Maker Studios in 2015. The network then became part of the Disney Digital Network in 2017.

Lisa Donovan grew up in Scarsdale, New York. She went to the University of Colorado at Boulder for college. Later, she moved to Los Angeles, California, to pursue her career.

Starting on YouTube
Donovan created her first YouTube channel in September 2005. Her very first video, "Introducing LisaNova," was uploaded on June 7, 2006. It showed different facial expressions set to music. She became known for making funny videos where she pretended to be famous people. For example, her impression of Sarah Palin was very popular. In 2008, a famous person named Ralph Nader even appeared in one of her skits.
Chad Hurley, one of the founders of YouTube, once said that Lisa Donovan's success showed how entertainment was changing. She also helped create a popular YouTube channel called 'The Game Station'. This led to her helping to start the YouTube network Maker Studios.
Acting Roles
Lisa Donovan was one of the first YouTube stars to also work in Hollywood. In 2006, she joined the cast of MADtv, a comedy show. Her first appearance was in a funny version of The Ellen DeGeneres Show on February 17, 2007. She played different characters in the skit. After appearing in four episodes, she left the show the next season.
In 2015, she had a role as a flight attendant in the movie The Wedding Ringer.
Maker Studios Company
Donovan was a co-founder and a board member of Maker Studios. This company was a multi-channel network, which means it helped many different YouTube creators make and share their videos. Maker Studios grew very big and was sold to The Walt Disney Company in 2014.
The Pattern App
Today, Lisa Donovan is the founder and CEO of The Pattern. This app uses astrology to help people understand their personalities. In 2021, Donovan announced that The Pattern planned to add a new feature called Connect, which would be for dating.
