Lisa's Early Life
Lisa Wu was born and grew up in Inglewood, California. She is one of nine children in her family. Her father, Stanley Wu, was a Chinese-American. Her mother, Victoria Brislis-Wu, had Afro-Caribbean roots. Lisa has shared that her family sometimes faced unfair comments in their neighborhood.
Her Career Journey
Lisa Wu started her career as a backup dancer. She danced for popular music groups like Public Enemy and EPMD. After dancing, she joined a rap group called 9tene.
Later, Lisa moved into the film world. She wrote, produced, and acted in the movie Black Ball in 2003. She continued to work in movies for many years. She was a screenwriter, producer, and actress.
Reality TV Star
Lisa Wu became a main cast member on the TV show The Real Housewives of Atlanta. This show is on the Bravo network. She was a main star for the first two seasons, from 2008 to 2009. She also appeared as a guest in later seasons, including 2010-2011 and more recently in 2022-2023.
After leaving RHOA, Lisa wrote a book. It is a novel called When The Cake is Made. The book was published in 2010.

From 1992 to 2002, Lisa was married to singer Keith Sweat. They have two sons together. Their names are Jordan, born in 1995, and Justin, born in 1998.
In 2005, Lisa married NFL player Ed Hartwell. They had one son, Ed, Jr. Ed Hartwell filed for divorce in 2011. Their divorce was finalized later that year.
