The President of the Republic of the Congo is the country's leader. This article lists all the people who have held this important role since 1960.

Since the position was created, six different people have served as President. One person, Denis Sassou Nguesso, has been president more than once.

Presidential Term Limits

In 2015, the country made some changes to its rules for presidents. The new rules removed the age limit for becoming president. They also changed the length of a president's term from seven years to five years. Plus, a president can now serve up to three terms instead of just two.
