The TV show Skippy the Bush Kangaroo was a popular Australian series that aired from 1968 to 1970. It followed the adventures of Skippy, a clever kangaroo, and the Hammond family who worked as park rangers in Waratah National Park. Matt Hammond is the head ranger, and his sons Mark and Sonny, along with helicopter pilot Jerry and family friend Clancy, often find themselves in exciting situations. Skippy is always there to help them solve problems, rescue people, and protect the park's animals.

It's been tricky to figure out the exact order of Skippy episodes. The official episode numbers often jump around, and the show was broadcast in different orders in different cities, making it hard to know when each episode first aired.

A car rally is happening in the park, putting animals at risk. A car crashes and the driver is trapped near a cliff. Skippy helps Sonny get a message to Matt, and Jerry and Mark use the helicopter to rescue the driver.
3 "The Golden Reef"
Divers find gold in the water. Thieves arrive with spear guns, but Matt, Sonny, and Skippy work together to stop them.
4 "Long Way Home"
Skippy is kidnapped by Dr. Alexander Stark, who wants her for his zoo. Matt refuses to sell her. Skippy escapes, but can she find her way back to the park?
5 "Cage Of Koalas"
Matt Hammond is upset when Dr. Anna Steiner, a scientist, starts trapping koalas in the park. But he has to help her when she gets into trouble.
6 "The Lyre Bird"
Sonny makes a new friend, Lisa, who is a dancer. They find an elderly plant scientist and help rescue him.
7 "Dead Or Alive"
A strange sickness threatens animals in Waratah National Park, and it looks like Skippy is to blame. Sonny is sad, but after letting Skippy go, he finds a poacher and his dogs are the real problem.
8 "The Marine Biologist"
Mark is not happy about helping a marine biologist. But he changes his mind when he meets a lively young woman. They end up rescuing Skippy and Sonny from a runaway speedboat.
9 "No Time For Clancy"
Clancy's father is moving to be a head ranger at a new park. Matt offers for Clancy to stay with them to finish her school exams. They soon discover Clancy loves to play the piano very early in the morning!
10 "Time And Tide"
Clancy loses a camera after a spider scares her. While searching for it in the water, her foot gets stuck under a rock. The tide starts to rise, and Jerry and Mark must rescue her.
11 "Can You Keep A Secret?"
Sonny and Clancy go to their secret cave, but an escaped person is hiding there and holds Clancy. He forces Sonny to get him food and clothes. Later, he takes Sonny hostage, and Skippy must rescue Sonny.
12 "The Swagman"
Sonny meets an Irish traveler, Mr. Trundle, who tells many tall tales. A stolen pocketwatch makes the police look for him. It turns out Mr. Trundle is actually Miles Vincent Archer.
13 "The Honeymooners"
A rich man and his wife are in the park. The wife wants Skippy's fur. Sonny gets trapped on their boat. Skippy knocks the couple into the water and saves Sonny before the boat crashes.
14 "Many Happy Returns"
It's Sonny's birthday, and he wants to learn to fly the helicopter. Mark and Jerry get food poisoning. Sonny has to fly the helicopter, and Jim Ferguson helps him land it to get Jerry medicine.
15 "My Best Friend"
Sonny has to paint for school. Clancy and Mark think his painting is not good, so they secretly replace it with their own work to help him get a good grade.
16 "When The Bough Breaks"
A couple is canoeing when their baby rolls into the water from the shore. Skippy rescues the baby and then finds Sonny to help.
17 "The Waratah Festival"
A diamond thief loses a necklace while running from the police. The thief sees Skippy find it and put it in her pouch. He follows her to Ranger Headquarters, where everyone is building a parade float. The thief hides on the float, but Mark and Sonny stop him.
18 "Summer Storm"
A storm hits the park, knocking out communication. Matt is bitten by a snake, and with no radio, Skippy must go for help and the antidote to save Matt's life.
19 "The Rustlers"
Skippy interrupts Sonny's radio lesson to show him sheep thieves who trick Sonny into working for them.
20 "Double Trouble"
Dr. Alexander Stark is still determined to get Skippy for his zoo. He hires an actor to pretend to be a park ranger and tries to get Matt fired from his job.
21 "Trapped"
Dr. Stark sends someone to the park to catch a rare animal using a special camera. Clancy finds the person and is temporarily unable to move. Skippy brings a message back to headquarters, leading to the person's capture and Clancy's safe return.
22 "They're Singing Me Back"
Sonny meets Noonar, an Aboriginal woman who has run away from her tribe. She is a talented singer. Matt tries to help her, but her life is still difficult. She agrees to go with the tribal elder when he wants to trade for Sonny, but Matt helps them find a way to learn from each other.
23 "Tara - Part One"
Sonny and Skippy find a hidden valley. Sonny becomes friends with an old Aboriginal man named Tara who lives alone. One day, Sonny finds Tara very weak, and he believes a "Death Spirit" is visiting him.
24 "Tara - Part Two"
Matt finds Judd, a man whose life Tara once saved. He hopes Judd can bring people from Tara's tribe who can help Tara recover.
25 "Surf King"
At a beach, Jerry wants to win a surfing championship but instead rescues a trapped swimmer. Meanwhile, back at Waratah National Park, Clancy and Matt have to fight a bushfire.
26 "The Runaway"
A young person who has run away holds Mark and Jerry at gunpoint, demanding to be flown out of the park. Skippy helps, and the boy runs away, falling into a ravine. Jerry risks his life to save him.
27 "The Last Chance"
An older movie star tries to make a comeback in a new film shot in the park. Skippy accidentally gets into a scene and becomes a new star. This makes the main actor angry, and he tries to get rid of Skippy.
28 "No Trespassers"
Skippy finds a secret boxing training camp set up illegally in the park. A young boxer, Rocky Miller, takes a forbidden ride in the helicopter with Jerry, leading to surprising results. Guest stars Jimmy Carruthers and Chips Rafferty.
29 "Mayday - Part One"
Jerry breaks park rules by using the helicopter to meet his girlfriend, Barbara. This leads to a dramatic crash, and Skippy comes to the rescue.
30 "Mayday - Part Two (aka Where There's Smoke)"
Detectives investigate Jerry's helicopter crash and don't believe his story about checking a bushfire. Skippy and Sonny try to find proof to clear Jerry. Jerry decides to quit his job.
31 "Date In Dalmar"
A bank robber named Keeler holds Sonny hostage and points a rifle at Matt. He forces Matt to drive him from Waratah National Park to meet his partners.
32 "Ten Little Visitors"
Sonny and Skippy become guides for a group of children from other countries who are visiting Waratah National Park during their tour of Australia.
33 "The Empty Chair"
Sonny travels to Sydney to convince his friend Mr. Trundle (also known as Miles Vincent Archer) to return to his job as chairman of a big company. He needs him to stop the company's plan to drill for oil in Waratah National Park.
34 "Aunt Evelyn"
Aunt Evelyn visits Waratah National Park, wanting Matt to send Sonny to boarding school in Sydney. Sonny and Skippy save her from drowning, and Sonny avoids going to a school he wouldn't like.
35 "The Bushrangers"
Jerry is alone at Ranger Headquarters when burglars overpower him and steal everything. Later, Sonny and Skippy find a group wearing old armor entering a cave. Sonny thinks they are the burglars, but they are a pop group called "The Bushrangers" who set up their instruments in the park. The group helps catch the real burglars.
36 "Man From Space"
Sonny is in charge of a recording unit in the bush. Skippy and Sonny find an injured pilot stuck in a tree. Sonny gets trapped on a cliff while trying to help. Skippy gets Matt, Jerry, and Mark, who rescue Sonny and the pilot.
37 "Be Our Guest"
Clancy is thrown from her horse deep in the bush and gets lost. Her mother is coming to Ranger Headquarters to see how Matt is looking after her. A group of Aboriginal nomads finds Clancy and brings her back just in time.
38 "The Long Night"
Two spies looking for secret microfilm pretend to be detectives. They try to cover their tracks by accusing Mark of a hit-and-run accident. Only Skippy knows who they really are.

Season 2 (1968-1969): New Adventures

Sonny rescues a boy who ran away from home. They float down the river on Sonny's raft, which falls apart. The boy admits he can't swim. His father rescues him.
41 "The Perfect Hosts"
Sonny and Clancy mistake an important person for an armed robber. This leads to a very confusing situation for everyone.
42 "Honest Jack"
Sonny finds a man cutting down trees illegally in the park. The man, "Honest Jack," claims he owns the land. He has been selling parts of Waratah National Park. For his last trick, he tries to sell Ranger Headquarters. Guest star John Laws.
43 "Follow My Leader"
A talented young violin player, who is Clancy's friend, insists on getting a baby koala. Skippy saves him from danger in the process.
44 "Tex N. Ranger"
A school for stunt performers sets up in Waratah National Park. Skippy helps save their injured teacher. Guest star Tom Oliver.
45 "Chicken"
Sonny finds two dead possums, and Matt is worried about many animals dying. Skippy gets poisoned and almost dies. Matt tricks the person responsible into admitting their guilt and revealing where the poison is.
46 "Belinda"
A beautiful racehorse named Belinda escapes from thieves and finds safety at Ranger Headquarters. The thieves try to get her back three times, but she escapes each time. The real owner arrives just in time to save her. Guest star Ross Higgins.
47 "The Mine"
Matt expects a man to help blow up an old mine. The man is Toby Boughton, Matt's old army friend. After an accidental explosion, Matt and Toby are trapped in the mine as it fills with water. Matt sends Clancy for a doctor and Skippy for help. Guest stars Chuck Faulkner and Harold Hopkins.
48 "Rockslide"
A young soldier who has left the army risks being caught to look after Sonny, who was injured in a rockslide. Guest star Sandy Harbutt.
49 "Hide and Seek"
Clancy sees someone near the helicopter hangar. Mark and Jerry investigate, and Jerry finds an old friend, Rich, who was involved in a robbery. Rich asks for shelter in the park, but Jerry refuses. Skippy helps save the day and finds Rich.
50 "Flying Saucers"
Sonny and Skippy see a flying saucer, and Sonny takes a photo but loses it. Matt, Jerry, and Mark don't believe him, but Clancy does. Skippy finds the photo, and Matt discovers the "flying saucer" was an experimental weather balloon.
51 "Esmeralda"
An old gypsy woman seeks revenge on Matt, Sonny, and Mark for her sons' imprisonment. She plays tricks on them that are more embarrassing than harmful. Even Skippy can't stop her tricks. When Clancy looks for them, everyone is relieved to find it was a tape recording, not a real explosion. Guest star Neva Carr Glyn.
52 "Puppets"
Sonny follows Skippy and finds a young puppeteer named Steven. Steven's uncle Carl doesn't want him to be a puppeteer. At a fundraiser, Steven is asked to use his puppets, but his uncle tells him to leave. Skippy helps save the day. Matt talks to Carl, and both Carl and Steven perform together. 53 "Vice Versa"
Sir Adrian and Professor Clifton want to take Skippy to Sydney for 6 to 9 months to study her. Sonny comes up with a plan for Skippy to pretend to be silly and do the opposite of what she's told.
54 "Oats"
A strict National Parks Inspector tries to make everyone at Ranger Headquarters follow all rules. But when there's a crisis, his own fear teaches him to respect the others.
55 "The Black Spider"
Clancy's music teacher visits, worried about Clancy's absence from lessons. Mark jokes that Clancy is leading a secret life. Something is bothering Clancy, but she won't say what. Sonny finds out she's helping him with his lessons, and Mark switched a letter. Clancy might win a scholarship.
56 "Tread Softly"
Skippy finds a koala that falls into a hole. Matt and Mark rescue it. More traps are found. Skippy finds the person setting the traps, who is a friend of Ben Schyler. Matt gets caught in a trap, but Sir Adrian rescues him. Skippy and Schyler's dog are also trapped. Schyler's wife leaves him, and he gets caught in his own trap while looking for his dog. Sonny appears with Skippy and Schyler's dog, who are friends.
57 "Shark Taggers"
Sonny sees Paula Howard, a shark researcher, in the shark-filled lake. Sonny and Skippy help her. She cuts herself during a dive. The boat overturns, and Sonny and Skippy fall into the water. Skippy gets help, and Jerry and Mark arrive in the helicopter just in time to save them from sharks.
58 "Surprise, Surprise"
It's Clancy's birthday, and she thinks everyone has forgotten. But a surprise party is planned. Mark has trouble finding girls for the party. Skippy helps by attracting many girls. The patrol boat is broken, so Matt and Clancy have to walk back, but "Lucky" Johnson gives them a ride.
59 "Marco Polo"
Mark wants to travel the world with his friend Bob, but Matt says no. Matt then changes his mind. Mark and Bob try to ride a tandem bicycle but have problems. Bob's father changes his mind about the trip. Mark decides to wait for Sonny to be old enough to travel with him.
60 "Wombat"
Sonny finds an orphaned baby wombat and brings it to Ranger Headquarters, causing chaos when Mark tries to catch it. Skippy finds its mother, and Sonny reunites them.
61 "Axeman"
A man mistakenly chops down trees, thinking it's public land. Two koalas are in one of the trees. The park needs a new helipad, so he's allowed to cut trees there. Two men don't want him to chop in the show. Skippy shows Jerry a broken part, and Jim Roberts is flown to the chopping contest by helicopter, which he wins. Guest star Reg Gorman.
62 "Up and Beyond"
A man and woman parachute from a torn balloon. Skippy sees them and shows Sonny. The balloonists go to Ranger Park Headquarters. Sonny and Skippy accidentally turn on the balloon's burner and float away. Matt, Jerry, Mark, and the balloonists try to bring it down. Sonny puts on a parachute and jumps with Skippy, and Matt picks them up.
63 "Round-Up"
Skippy finds wild horses in the park that damage plants. Matt, Jerry, and Mark try to catch them. Matt hires rodeo champions to help. When the horses hide, Matt, Clancy, and Pete round them up. Pete's brother Cole returns, and Sonny and Skippy lead him to the horses.
64 "The Hikers"
Two botany teachers, Helen Macauley and Judith Wright, go hiking. Sonny and Skippy meet them. Sonny worries they'll get lost and tells Jerry. Skippy shows Jerry the way. The teachers ignore Jerry's advice and get lost. Judith falls and breaks the compass. She blames Skippy. Judith is bitten by a snake, but Skippy brings the snake to Jerry, who identifies it as harmless. Skippy shows Jerry where the teachers are. Guest stars Pat Lovell and Clarissa Kaye.
65 "For My Next Trick"
Sonny and Skippy see a traveling showman, Alfred the Great, and his partner. They want to stay in the park. They use Skippy in their magic act, then try to kidnap her. Skippy pretends to be dead and escapes. The kidnappers chase her, but the animals help Skippy chase them away. Guest star Barry Crocker.
66 "A Bird In The Hand"
Mark sees a man in a tree who claims to be a birdwatcher, but he is catching and selling birds. Jerry meets a nun who is an expert on birds. Sonny and Skippy discover stolen birds in bags. Skippy tells Matt, who tells Jerry. The thieves are caught by the nun and Jerry. Guest stars Kirrily Nolan, Ken Shorter, and Henri Szeps.
67 "Marathon"
Sir Adrian Gillespie allows a cross-country marathon in the park. Mark wants to run, but Matt doubts he can finish. Mr. Hogan accidentally turns a sign the wrong way. Mark goes the correct way, while everyone else goes the wrong way. Skippy wins the race. Mark doesn't get a trophy and says he won't run another marathon. Guest stars Willie Fennell and Harry Lawrence.
68 "The Best Man"
Jerry is asked to be the best man at a wedding but has trouble getting there on time. He has to round up two youths on the river and rescue a man stuck on a ledge. With no cars available, Jerry rides a horse to the wedding. Skippy arrives with his hat and gloves.
69 "Plain Jane"
Jane Holland, a shy country girl, transforms into a beauty, surprising Jerry and Mark. Jane gets sick on a boat trip with Mark, Sonny, and Clancy. Mark invites her to a party, but Jerry doesn't want her there. Clancy's friend Georgie helps Jane, and she becomes very popular.
70 "Hi Fi"
On a rainy day, Mark tries to build a hi-fi set. Matt and Stan Wiley leave to set up a temporary phone line. Stan finds a bridge is about to collapse. A storm breaks the communication system. Skippy and Clancy try to warn Matt. Mark gets his hi-fi working, and Skippy arrives just in time to stop Matt from driving onto the bridge.
71 "Maggie"
While Matt, Mark, and Sonny are away, Jerry's lively girlfriend, Maggie, gets involved with smugglers and asks Jerry for help. The smugglers hold Jerry and Maggie at gunpoint, but Skippy alerts the police.
72 "Mixed Company"
An elderly bird expert wants to stop young waterskiers from using the river because they disturb his birdwatching. While trying to damage their boat, he accidentally starts a fire that threatens the park animals. The animals are rescued, the fire is put out, and the bird expert apologizes to the youths.
73 "Treasure Hunt"
Bank robbers hide their stolen money in Matt's truck. By chance, a treasure hunt is happening, and they put $8000 in the treasure chest. While Matt, Jerry, and Clancy are away, the thieves arrive at Ranger Headquarters. Sonny tells them about the treasure hunt. The thieves follow the clues to find the chest, tripping over Clancy's dress.
74 "The Sport of Kings"
Mark is supposed to ride in a horse race. Matt, Sonny, Clancy, and Skippy attend with Sir Adrian. Mark is injured when a horse named Stormaway knocks him over. Clancy takes his place. Skippy bets $1 on "Wallaby Bill" and wins $34. Stormaway wins the race but is disqualified. Skippy shows off her winnings.
75 "Bon Voyage"
Clancy passes her music exams and wins a scholarship to study music in London. Her parents can't afford the trip. Sir Adrian and Mr. Neilson from England need Matt to send his best Ranger to England for an exchange program. Matt sends Clancy's father so Clancy can study music in England, and the whole family moves. This is the last time Liza Goddard appears as Clancy.
76 "Cobber"
Toby Bell and his dog, Cobber, are fighting with Joe Farrell and his dog, Judy. Skippy tells Matt and Sonny about Joe stealing Toby's dog. Skippy outsmarts Joe, making him crash his truck. Matt arranges a sheepdog trial to end the feud between Toby and Joe over Cobber. Matt suggests they work together. Sonny says Skippy thinks the dogs should decide. Toby and Joe win the sheepdog trial together, thanks to Cobber.
77 "Tiger"
Mark and Mr. Crompton photograph animals at a waterhole and discover a tiger in the pictures. Matt thinks it might be a Tasmanian Tiger and calls an animal expert, Dr. Tollkine. Mark becomes suspicious when he finds crumpled photos. It turns out the "tiger" is a dog with painted stripes, and the men are con artists trying to capture animals. Matt stops them.
78 "Luna Park"
Sonny wins a trip to Luna Park. Mark takes Sonny and Skippy. On the ferry, a man named Nimble Norris steals a wallet and hides it in Skippy's pouch before being arrested. When Mark arrives, the police arrest Nimble Norris. Guest star John Meillon.

Season 3 (1970): Final Adventures

An artist, Mr. Nash, comes to paint wildlife in the park. He complains his paintings were ruined. Sonny finds Skippy, who has "painted" on his canvas. Skippy poses for him. A politician and his wife come to buy a painting. Skippy shows them where Mr. Nash is hiding. The painting is sold, and the money goes to Waratah National Park.
80 "A Manner Of Speaking"
Mark tries to befriend a new girl, Theresa, but her father, Mr. Fiorini, doesn't approve. Mark tries to learn Italian. Matt finds Mr. Fiorini trying to shoot animals. Mr. Fiorini falls and breaks his leg while trying to catch koalas. Skippy gets help. Mr. Fiorini allows Mark to see Theresa and invites everyone for a spaghetti dinner. Matt surprises them by speaking Italian well.
81 "The Prince Of Siam"
After Matt tells Sonny about children who don't have enough food, Sonny decides to raise money for charity. He gets a job on a tomato farm. When his employer's Siamese cat, Sammy, goes missing, Skippy finds the cat and collects a $200 reward for charity.
82 "High Fashion"
Skippy and Sonny help Mark fix the 4WD. Matt asks Mark to show some fashion people around. Sonny accidentally breaks the photographer's filters. The photographer decides to shoot black and white. As the model leans on a rock, Skippy tries to warn her, but the photographer ignores Skippy. The model is bitten by a spider. Sonny takes charge, and Skippy takes a message to Matt and Mark. The spider bite is found to be harmless. Guest star Jack Thompson.
83 "El Toro"
A man named Gus brings a bull named Brutus into the park. Brutus is stung by an echidna and goes on a rampage, scaring campers. Sonny and Skippy search for campers to warn them. Matt explains that the bull was just frightened. Guest star Michael Caton.
84 "Mr. Duffy"
An Irishman, Patrick Duffy, who claims to be a shoemaker, appears and disappears mysteriously. Sonny gets new shoes without explanation. Skippy finds Aboriginal art in a cave. It turns out Mr. Duffy has been painting fake artworks. Matt eventually realizes who he is.
86 "The Veteran"
Matt finds an abandoned car and struggles with the driver, who knocks him out. The man nearly hits Sonny while speeding. Police arrive and say the man, Steven Lansbury, was a prisoner of war. Matt issues a red alert when the man takes Sonny. The man steals a plane, and when the engine stops, he lands it, thinking he is in Burma.
87 "The Rainmakers"
There's a big drought in the park. Mr. Pearson arrives to make rain clouds. Matt and Mark meet an Aboriginal artist, Johnny Bombada. Mr. Bombada, Mr. Pennyweather, and Mr. Pearson all claim to have caused the rain. When it rains too much, Matt asks someone to stop it, and Johnny Bombada successfully does. Guest stars Athol Compton, Rod Hull, and Noel Ferrier.
88 "Up The Waratahs"
It's the final game for Mark's football team, the Waratahs. Two criminals want to make Mark lose so they can win a bet against the team. They try to use Nimble Norris to cause trouble, but they fail.
89 "Merry-Go-Round"
Carrie Mason, a girl who dreams of being a clown, finds she has a lot in common with Skippy. They both decide to run away from home and join a traveling carnival. Guest star Peter Adams.
90 "Pigeon Pair"
Skippy and Sonny find a device they think is a bomb, but it's a pigeon racing clock. They return it to the owner, Miss Dougall, who is competing in the National Pigeon Racing Championships. Her pigeon, "Penelope," comes second with Skippy's help. Colonel Crothers wins with his pigeon, "Sergeant."
91 "Fred"
Sir Adrian, Mark, Matt, and Skippy search for a flower thief who picks protected flowers in the park. They only know his name is "Fred." It's a team of two who use a machete to cut the flowers, which are then sold. Skippy shows Matt where the thieves are, and they are caught.
