Skippy the Bush Kangaroo was an Australian TV show for children. It was created by John McCallum and made between 1966 and 1968. The show is about a young boy and his very smart pet kangaroo named Skippy. Their adventures happen in the fictional Waratah National Park, which is near Sydney, New South Wales.
Ninety-one episodes were made, each about 30 minutes long. When the show first aired, Australian television was still in black and white. However, the show was filmed in color. This was done so it could be sold to other countries, especially the United States and Canada. It was shown there from 1969 to 1972. The Nine Network in Australia showed the series many times after Australian TV switched to color in 1975.

- Garry Pankhurst played Sonny Hammond. He was Matt's younger son and Skippy's best friend. Sonny and Skippy often found themselves in exciting situations.
- Ken James played Mark Hammond. He was Matt's older son. Mark often helped his dad and brother with their adventures in the park.
Other Important People
