Welcome to a list of characters from the popular CBBC show, Tracy Beaker Returns! This series is based on the books by Jacqueline Wilson. It aired for three seasons from 2010 to 2012. The show is a follow-up to The Story of Tracy Beaker (2002-2005) and leads into The Dumping Ground, which started in 2013. You might know Connor Byrne who played Mike Milligan in all three shows. Also, Dani Harmer and Lisa Coleman returned as Tracy Beaker and Cam Lawson for Tracy Beaker Returns.

Gina Conway, played by Kay Purcell, was a care worker at Elm Tree House. This is the children's home where Tracy Beaker Returns and the first season of The Dumping Ground are set. She first appeared on January 8, 2010, and left the show on March 15, 2013.
Gina is a kind and caring house mother. She is very smart when dealing with the children. The kids at the Dumping Ground usually respect her. Sometimes, when she gets angry, she can be loud, but this often helps the children listen.
When Tracy Beaker (Dani Harmer) first arrived, Gina let her in from the rain. Gina didn't know who Tracy was at first. Later, she found out Tracy had gotten into trouble with Cam Lawson's (Lisa Coleman) credit card. Gina was upset because she had let Tracy tuck the kids into bed. However, Gina soon grew to like Tracy and often supported her.
Gina also had a husband named Greg, who called her "Snugglebum". She loved her plants and was upset when one was broken. Gina left the care home off-screen. She got a promotion to help her mum, Hattie, who had dementia, stay in a care home.

Carmen Howle, played by Amy-Leigh Hickman, first appeared on January 8, 2010. She left the show on November 25, 2016.
Carmen is a very outgoing girl. She is kind and caring, but can be impatient. She sometimes seems a bit silly and can accidentally share secrets. Her favorite color is pink. She had tricky friendships with other kids like Bailey, Elektra, and Johnny. Carmen also had a difficult relationship with her mother, who left her to go on holiday.
When her best friend Lily was fostered, Carmen felt lonely. She took special items from other residents because she felt no one listened to her problems. Carmen's mum, Helen, once returned and said she wanted Carmen to live with her in Spain. But Helen then left Carmen for her ex-boyfriend.
Carmen didn't do very well at school. She once tried to become "the face of the future" but messed up the science experiments. She and Jody once argued so much that Floss handcuffed them together! Carmen also helped her friend Kazima with her application to stay in the UK. Carmen and Tee moved out of the Dumping Ground together in the episode "One For Sorrow".

Tee Taylor, played by Mia McKenna-Bruce, first appeared on January 8, 2010. She left the show on November 25, 2016, but made guest appearances later.
Tee is a kind and caring person. In the first season, her older brother Johnny was very protective, which made her a bit quieter. She has dark blonde hair and brown eyes. Tee is very caring towards younger children like Mo, Floss, Harry, and her younger sister Hope.
Tee and Johnny once went to a trial foster placement. The foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. Watson, wanted to foster Tee but not Johnny. Tee decided not to be fostered because she didn't want to leave her brother.
Tee found a trail of riddles that led her to a time capsule buried at the Dumping Ground. She once accidentally ruined a holiday by forgetting to close a gate, letting sheep into the farmhouse. Later, she found a new holiday for everyone.
Tee's mum contacted her and Johnny, and Tee met her baby sister, Hope. Tee got worried her mum wasn't looking after Hope well and took the baby. Her mum got Hope back, and Tee and Johnny saw them regularly. Tee also got into street art, which almost got her arrested.
Tee and Carmen moved out of Ashdene Ridge to live together in a flat. Tee also returned for guest appearances to help save Ashdene Ridge and attend Mike's wedding.

Harry Jones, played by Philip Graham Scott, first appeared on January 8, 2010. He left the show on November 25, 2016.
Harry was one of the younger residents. He looked up to older kids like Sapphire Fox and Faith Davis as mother figures. Later, he looked up to Ryan Reeves. Harry was a small but cheeky character. He loved carrying his toy giraffe named Jeff. He has curly blond hair and blue eyes.
In The Dumping Ground, Harry became good friends with Mo Michaels and Floss Guppy. He also secretly loved wrestling. Harry was fostered for a while but returned to the Dumping Ground when things didn't work out with his foster family. He gave his toy giraffe, Jeff, to Floss when he left.

Frank Matthews, played by Chris Slater, was a resident at Elm Tree House. He has cerebral palsy, which affects movement and coordination. Frank is a kind, caring, and sometimes easily fooled character. He supports Manchester United football club. He loved playing pranks with his best friend, Liam O'Donovan.
Frank became a waiter and started a relationship with another waitress named Jade. He was reunited with Liam and eventually left the care home to live with him. Frank made guest appearances in The Dumping Ground to help Kazima and to try and save Ashdene Ridge from being knocked down. He also appeared at Mike's wedding.

Jonathan "Johnny" Taylor, played by Joe Maw, was in all seasons of Tracy Beaker Returns and The Dumping Ground. He is the older brother of Tee and Hope Taylor. Johnny is very tidy and was very protective of Tee, especially after a difficult time with their mum's boyfriend. He has brown hair and dark grey eyes.
When he first arrived, Johnny was desperate for him and Tee to be fostered. As the show went on, he learned to control his anger better. At the end of the third season, he left to join the army.
Johnny made a guest appearance in The Dumping Ground to help save Ashdene Ridge from being closed down.

Lily Kettle is the daughter of Steve Kettle (Ben Cartwright). She was a resident at Elm Tree House throughout Tracy Beaker Returns and the first two seasons of The Dumping Ground.
Lily quickly showed herself to be a protective older sister to her younger sisters, Poppy and Rosie, after their mother passed away and their father couldn't care for them. She found it hard not to be in charge.
Lily had a strong friendship with Carmen Howle. They once fell out when Lily thought Carmen was trying to take over as a mother figure to her sisters, but they later made up. Lily and her sisters were fostered, but Lily returned to the Dumping Ground because she still wanted to be in control of her sisters' care.
Lily later fell from a two-story roof but recovered with minor injuries. Cam Lawson eventually fostered Lily. Lily also reconnected with her father, Steve, and later moved to Brighton to live with him and his new partner, Shannay, and her new half-brother, Jonah. Lily later studied catering and became a café owner. She also returned for Mike's wedding.

Gus Carmichael, played by Noah Marullo, was a resident at Elm Tree House. Gus has Asperger's Syndrome, a type of autism. This made him very keen on keeping things tidy and detailed. He always carried notebooks and wrote in them. Gus is tall with curly black hair. He loves playing the piano but can be socially awkward. He dislikes too much noise and disorder, feeling that everything needs a schedule.
In one episode, Liam discovered Gus's notebook was full of other people's secrets! Gus once tried to figure out the stories of two refugees who came to the Dumping Ground. He also helped Tracy find out who started a fire at Elm Tree House.
In The Dumping Ground, Gus caused some chaos when Mike was on holiday and Gina was in hospital. He was fed up with things not being on schedule. He eventually got fostered by a lesbian couple.

Sapphire Fox, played by Saffron Coomber, was a resident at Elm Tree House for all three seasons of Tracy Beaker Returns. She is tall and of mixed race, with long, dark-brown curly hair. Sapphire often acted like an older sister or mother figure to the younger children, especially Harry Jones. She was attending college in the third season.
Sapphire could be very caring and protective, but she also kept many secrets. In the third season, she got her own flat, but had to move back to Elm Tree House after a flood. She then shared a room with Elektra. Later, it was revealed that she moved away.

Liam O'Donovan was a resident at Elm Tree House, played by Richard Wisker. He has brown hair and eyes. Liam is sarcastic, clever, and a bit sly, but he is also kind and loyal to his friends. His best friend is Frank. He enjoys playing pranks and trying to trick people.
Liam was living with a foster family at the start of the first season but was sent back to the care home because of his behavior. In the third season, Liam bought fake DVDs. When he couldn't get his money back, he caused a mess at the stall. He then accidentally got into trouble with a woman and her purse.
Tracy later found out that Liam had a brother named Jack, who was a police officer. Jack offered Liam a chance to live with him. Liam was unsure because he liked his friends and felt comfortable at the care home. In the end, Liam left the Dumping Ground on his brother's motorbike. Liam returned for Mike's wedding in The Dumping Ground.

Rosie is the younger sister of Lily and Poppy. When Carmen moved into Lily's room, Lily got upset because Carmen started taking over with Rosie and Poppy. They later made up.

Toby Coleman, played by John Bell, was a resident at Elm Tree House for the first two seasons of Tracy Beaker Returns. He came into care after he lost his parents in a car crash. Toby felt like he was cursed because of these sad events.
Toby was a loyal friend and often brought a calm feeling to the home. He was best friends with Johnny and got along well with older kids like Liam, Frank, and Elektra. Toby loved comics and sci-fi. His room even had a Doctor Who poster!
In one episode, Toby was convinced his life was jinxed. Tracy tried to help him. He was worried about meeting new foster parents because he feared his "bad luck" would strike again. Toby also saved Tee from getting hurt when she fell from a tree.
Toby became friends with a girl named Sara at a comic book store. He liked her because they had a lot in common. He later found out she had lied to him, but they made up. Toby was fostered at the beginning of the third season.

Mandy "Elektra" Perkins, played by Jessica Revell, was a tough and rebellious resident. She appeared in the second and third seasons of Tracy Beaker Returns and the first season of The Dumping Ground. Elektra often acted tough and could be mean, but she also had caring moments. She became friends with Toby, Carmen, and Johnny.
Elektra arrived and immediately got into a fight with Liam. She explained it was a reaction from tough times in other care homes. She tried to form a gang with other residents, making them do small thefts to test their loyalty.
In one episode, Elektra was reunited with her old gang, the Cobras. But after they tried to steal from Toby, she realized what they were doing was wrong and left the gang.
More about Elektra's family was revealed when her sister, Melissa, asked her to be a bridesmaid. Elektra's parents had put her in care, and her mum wanted her to hide that from the wedding guests. Elektra got angry and tried to cancel the wedding. Melissa later understood Elektra's feelings, and they made up.
Elektra made guest appearances in The Dumping Ground to help save Ashdene Ridge and to help Tyler and Jody.

Rick Barber, played by Daniel Pearson, was a resident at Elm Tree House and later Ashdene Ridge. He came into care when his parents got into trouble with the law. Rick is nice and smart, but can also be hot-headed. He is very fair and has good morals. He became friends with Carmen and was protective of Tyler. Rick plays the guitar and loves listening to his parents' old records.
Rick shared that his parents used to trick people out of money. He felt guilty because he benefited from their actions. In The Dumping Ground, Rick's father, Gerry, visited him from prison. Gerry pretended to have changed, but Rick soon realized he still enjoyed tricking people.
Rick left the care home to live with his mum after she was released from prison.

Tyler Lewis, played by Miles Butler-Hughton, first appeared on January 6, 2012.
Before Tyler came into care, he lived with his mum, Sally. Sally had a health condition that affected her moods, so she couldn't properly care for Tyler. Tyler first lived at Burnywood Children's Home, which was known for being a difficult place. He was close friends with Rick Barber there.
In Tracy Beaker Returns, Tyler arrived at Elm Tree House after a fire at Burnywood. Carmen recognized him as someone who had caused trouble for her before. Tyler was a prankster, but he showed his softer side when he cried over a burnt birthday card from his mum. He and Carmen eventually became friends.
Tyler's mum visited him in The Dumping Ground, but he found out she wasn't taking her medication. They later worked things out. Tyler didn't know his father, but later learned his father had passed away.
In 2020, Tyler moved out of the Dumping Ground to live with his mum and stepfather in St. Lucia. He later returned temporarily to support Jody for her brother's funeral.

Jody Jackson, played by Kia Pegg, first appeared on March 9, 2012.
When Jody first arrived, she seemed to have lived in difficult conditions. She was afraid to take a bath, and Tracy helped her. Jody shared that her mother used to scrub her roughly when social workers visited. She also said that when she was naughty, people would hold her underwater.
Jody once disappeared, and Tracy found her at her old home. Carmen, Gus, and Gina later found Jody sleeping under the kitchen table because she was scared to sleep in a room with someone else. Gina offered her a quiet room of her own.
In Goodbye Tracy Beaker, a new care worker, Melanie, saved Jody's life when Jody had a serious allergic reaction. Jody was put into care because she was found alone at her house.
Jody had anger issues and took boxing and anger management sessions to help. In The Dumping Ground, Jody learned that her brother Kingsley had passed away. With Tyler's help, she came to terms with her complicated feelings about Kingsley.
Jody moved into her own flat through supported living. She struggled with living alone and visited the Dumping Ground often. She eventually left for good, realizing it was time to move on.

Christie and her husband, Matt, fostered Lily, Rosie, and Poppy. Lily was returned to the Dumping Ground when things didn't work out. Tracy tried to help Lily apologize to Christie and Matt, but Lily ended up arguing with them again.
Christie and Matt later decided Lily could move back in, which made Rosie and Poppy happy. However, Lily was secretly scared. When the Dumping Ground was threatened with closure, Christie tried to take Lily home, but Lily fell off the roof.

Matt Perry, played by Chris Robson, first appeared on January 29, 2010. He left the show on January 27, 2012.
Matt and his wife, Christie, fostered Lily, Rosie, and Poppy. Lily was returned to the Dumping Ground when things didn't work out. Tracy tried to help Lily apologize to Matt and Christie, but Lily ended up arguing with them again.
When Lily stayed with Matt and Christie, Christie told Lily that they had decided she could move in. Matt had even made a sign for her door.
Matt and Christie brought Rosie and Poppy to meet their father, Steve Kettle. The meeting was difficult, and Rosie and Poppy ran back to Matt and Christie. Lily later realized her sisters were settled with Matt and Christie and told her father not to try to get them back.

Rob, played by Neil Armstrong, was a social worker who first appeared on February 25, 2011. He left the show on January 18, 2013.
Rob brought Lily back to the Dumping Ground after her foster placement with Matt and Christie Perry didn't work out. He was upset with Tracy for taking Lily to the Perrys to apologize, which made the situation worse.
Rob also handled the difficult meeting between the Kettle sisters and their father, Steve. He reminded Christie that Steve was their father, even when she didn't want the girls to go through another difficult meeting.
When Jody ran away from her mum's house and came back to the Dumping Ground, Rob thought it was best for Jody to go home with the support of social services, even though Gina disagreed.

Seth Foreman, played by Ashley Taylor-Rhys, was Toby's social worker and later Tracy's boyfriend. He first appeared on January 28, 2011, and left on March 23, 2012. Seth is kind and funny.
When a bag of money was found in the garden, Toby suspected Seth, who was a new social worker. Toby spied on Seth and found evidence related to the money. Tracy and the kids locked Seth in the basement, thinking he was a bad guy. Later, they realized he wasn't.
Seth and Tracy started a relationship. Tracy once pretended Seth was her boyfriend to make Justine jealous, which upset Seth. He told her to figure out what she really wanted. Tracy realized she wanted to be with Seth. Seth returned to tell Tracy how proud he was of her.

Steve Kettle, played by Ben Cartwright, was the father of Lily, Rosie, and Poppy. He first appeared on February 25, 2011, and left on March 8, 2013.
Steve approached Lily in a shopping center. Tracy thought he was trying to take Lily, but Lily revealed he was her father. Lily later tracked Steve down and confronted him about why he disappeared when she and her sisters went into care. Steve decided to try and get the court order lifted so he could see his daughters.
Steve had a difficult meeting with Rosie and Poppy, and they ran back to their foster parents. Lily tried to arrange another meeting, but it also went badly. Lily eventually realized her sisters were happy with their foster family and told her father he didn't have to try to get them back.
Lily was unhappy when Steve's pregnant girlfriend, Shannay, moved in. Lily felt guilty when Shannay went into early labor but was happy to have a new half-brother, Jonah.

Jack O'Donovan, played by Callum Callaghan and later Chris Finch, is the brother of Liam. He first appeared on January 20, 2012, and left on March 28, 2014.
Liam was arrested after being accused of taking a woman's bag. At court, Jack found out they were brothers. Jack was an undercover police officer trying to find a group making fake DVDs. He invited Liam to live with him, and Liam agreed.
Jack visited the Dumping Ground when he was having problems with Liam. They made up, and Liam went to live with Jack.
