Kia May Pegg (born on June 29, 2000) is an English actress and TV presenter. She is best known for playing Jody Jackson in the children's TV shows Tracy Beaker Returns (2012) and The Dumping Ground (2013–2022). From 2022 to 2024, Kia also played Scarlett Kiernan, a receptionist, in the BBC show Doctors. She was nominated for several awards for this role. Since 2022, she has also been a presenter on Saturday Mash-Up! for CBBC.

Kia Pegg was born in Birmingham, England, on June 29, 2000. Her dad, Jonathan, is a boxing trainer, and her mom is Rachel. Kia has two younger brothers. She started learning acting at the Birmingham Stage School Showbiz and the Television Workshop.

Early Acting Roles

Kia's first acting job was in an advertisement about how to deal with the swine flu. In 2008, she appeared in The Legend of Dick and Dom. She then acted in the movie Toast in 2010 and Horrid Henry: The Movie in 2011, where she played Vicious Vicky.

Starring in Children's TV Shows

In 2012, Kia got a big role as Jody Jackson in the CBBC show Tracy Beaker Returns. She continued playing Jody in the spin-off series The Dumping Ground, which started in 2013. Her role as Jody was very popular, and in 2014, Kia was nominated for a BAFTA award for her acting in The Dumping Ground. After playing Jody for eleven years, Kia left The Dumping Ground in 2022.

Later Roles and Presenting

In 2017, Kia had a small role in the BBC show Doctors as Zoe McCluskey. Later that year, she played Peewee in the movie The Quiet One. She won an award for Best Young Actor at the Birmingham Film Festival for this role.

Kia also appeared in several other films, including A Bullet Wasted (2019), Leap (2020), SeaView (2021), and Making Friends as the World Ends (2022).

In March 2022, it was announced that Kia would join Doctors as a regular character, playing receptionist Scarlett Kiernan. Her first episode was on April 7, 2022. For her work as Scarlett, she was nominated for a Breakthrough award at the 2022 RTS Midlands Awards.

While filming Doctors, Kia also started presenting on CBBC's Saturday Mash-Up! in 2022. In October 2023, the BBC announced that Doctors would end. Kia continued to play Scarlett until the very last episode, which aired on November 14, 2024.
