List of tallest buildings in Canberra facts for kids

Welcome to Canberra, Australia's capital city! This article is all about the tallest buildings in Canberra. We'll explore the amazing structures that reach high into the sky.
The way we measure how tall a building is comes from a group called the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat. They count the height up to the very top of a building, including any spires, but not antennas.
The two tallest buildings in Canberra are the High Society Towers. Tower 1 is 113 metres (371 ft) (about 371 feet) tall, and Tower 2 is 100 metres (330 ft) (about 328 feet) tall. Both have 27 floors! You can find these impressive towers in Belconnen, which is a part of North Canberra.
Did you know there are rules about how tall buildings can be in different parts of Canberra? In the central area, buildings generally can't go higher than 617 metres (2,024 ft) above sea level. This usually means they are limited to about 50 metres (160 ft) (164 feet) above the ground. Because of this rule, the very tallest buildings are often found in areas outside the city center, like Phillip and Belconnen.

Even the flagpole on top of Parliament House makes it 107 m (351 ft) tall! But these are not considered "buildings" in the same way.
