List of tallest buildings in Canberra facts for kids

This page shows you the tallest buildings in Canberra, which is Australia's capital city. We rank them by how tall they are. The way we measure their height comes from a group called the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat. They count the height up to the very top of a building, like a pointy spire, but not tall radio antennas.
The two tallest buildings in Canberra are the High Society Towers. Tower 1 is 113 meters (about 370 feet) tall, and Tower 2 is 100 meters (about 328 feet) tall. Both have 27 floors! You can find them in Belconnen, which is a part of North Canberra.
Did you know there's a special rule about building heights in central Canberra? Buildings there can't go higher than 617 meters (about 2,024 feet) above sea level. This means that in the main city area, buildings are usually only about 50 meters (164 feet) tall from the ground up. Because of this rule, the really tall buildings are built in other areas, like Phillip and Belconnen.
