LittleBigPlanet, often shortened to 'LBP', is a puzzle platformer video game. In the game you start as a Sackboy (or sackgirl) who you control; you can dress up with over 100 types of clothing to select from. There are 6 themes of levels to complete and your aim is to complete the levels. It revolves around content created by players. It is only made for PlayStation 3, and it was first made known on 7 March 2007, by Phil Harrison at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco, California. It was made under the title 'The Next Big Thing' by Media Molecule and was published by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. A PSP version of the game came out in November 2009, and had new levels and content.
The game received good ratings from critics. They liked its presentation, including its graphics, physics and sound, together with its gameplay and the ability to change a lot of things, as well as online features. More praise was given to its size and future potential based on user-created content. Small criticism was made for certain parts of the gameplay and level creation tools. LittleBigPlanet has won a large amount of awards.
