History of Little Anita's
Little Anita's is a restaurant chain that began in 1976. It was started by Anita Tellez and her grandchild, K. Starrs Ortiz. The restaurant was named after one of Mrs. Tellez's great-grandmothers.
Over the years, Little Anita's became very well known in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The chain grew and opened its first restaurant in Denver, Colorado, in 2001.
Anita Tellez also started another group of restaurants called Anita's New Mexico Style. These restaurants serve similar New Mexico-inspired food in the Washington D.C. area. Even though they are owned separately, both chains share many ideas for their menus.
