The Story of Little Jimmy's
How Little Jimmy's Started
The story of Little Jimmy's Italian Ices began in 1932. A man named Albert Mauro came to the United States from Sicily. He settled in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Albert started making a frozen dessert called granita right in his home. He used a special family recipe and just one machine.
Albert would load his delicious frozen treats into his truck. He drove through the streets of Elizabeth and Linden, New Jersey. He even parked outside the General Motors factory. He would be there when workers started and finished their shifts. Over time, Albert's business grew. He added three more trucks and two more machines to help make more Italian ice.
Growing Across the Country
For many years, Little Jimmy's Italian Ices was mainly sold in New Jersey. But in 2005, the company decided to share its tasty treats with more people. They started offering their products all over the United States. This meant that people in about 35 different states could enjoy Little Jimmy's Italian Ices.
A New Chapter for the Company
In 2014, another company bought Little Jimmy's. This company was Maglione's Italian Ice, also from Iselin, New Jersey. Even though there was a new owner, the business of selling Italian ice continued. It still operates under the well-known Little Jimmy's name today.
