As of 2015, about 10,760 people live in Liure. This municipality is made up of five smaller communities, which are called villages.
What Does the Name Liure Mean?
Have you ever wondered how towns get their names? For Liure, there are two main ideas about where its name came from.
One idea is that "Liure" means "Free." This name might have been chosen to show that the people of this new town were finally free from the control of another nearby town called Texiguat.
