Church Leaders
The first leader of the church was Curdell McLeod. She was born in Jamaica and moved to Britain with her husband in the 1950s.
Curdell McLeod's Early Work
In the 1970s, Curdell and her husband opened a Homework Study Centre. This centre helped children who needed extra support with their schoolwork. It provided after-school lessons for kids who were struggling or came from less fortunate backgrounds. Before her full-time church work, Curdell worked in the Civil Service and in education.
Entering Full-Time Ministry
In 1992, Curdell left her job as a Deputy Principal at a college. She decided to focus completely on Christian ministry. She had already been involved in church work since 1988. This included sharing messages on London's Premier Christian Radio. She also had a TV show called "The Living Word" on Sky TV Channel 173. Curdell also taught at Hampstead Bible College and South London Christian College.
Leadership After Curdell McLeod
Rev. Dr. Curdell McLeod passed away on October 9, 2019. Her husband, Associate Pastor Herbert McLeod, then led the church. Their children, Dr Jacqueline McLeod and David McLeod, also became leaders. The church continues its work with three other leaders and several staff members.
Church Activities
Living Word Christian Fellowship (LWCF) offers several programs and services. They run the main church and a training centre. They also have a special ministry for young leaders. A healing centre is also part of their work, aiming to help people feel better in different ways. They used to have an online radio station, but it closed in 2019.
