How People Vote in Ljusne
Ljusne has a long history as a place with many factories and industries. Because of this, it has often supported political parties that focus on workers' rights and social programs. These parties are often called "left-wing" parties.
Voting for the Riksdag
The Riksdag is like Sweden's parliament, where laws are made. For many years, people in Ljusne have mostly voted for the Social Democrats. This party often received more than half of the votes in national elections. Sometimes, they even got close to 80% of all votes!
Another party, the Left Party, also got a lot of votes in Ljusne, often around 10%. This meant that together, these "left-wing" parties received almost nine out of every ten votes in the town.
In more recent times, especially in the 21st century, other parties, sometimes called "centre-right" parties, have started to get more votes. However, the Social Democrats and Left Party still remain very popular in Ljusne. This strong support for left-wing parties has made Ljusne a key part of the political landscape in Söderhamn Municipality.
