Llanars is a small town, also called a municipality, located in the Pyrenees mountains. It is part of the comarca (a type of region) called Ripollès, which is in Girona, Catalonia, Spain. One of its most famous buildings is the Sant Esteve de Llanars church, which is built in the Romanesque style.

The name of the village, Llanars, has been known for a very long time. The first time it was written down was in the year 1068. Back then, it was spelled a little differently, as Llenars.

The main church in Llanars is called Sant Esteve de Llanars. It's a very old church built in the Romanesque style. This means it has thick walls, round arches, and often simple, strong designs. These churches were built a long time ago, usually between the 6th and 11th centuries.

As of 2018, about 514 people live in Llanars. People from Llanars are called Llanarencs (for boys and men) or Llanarenques (for girls and women). The town is led by a Mayor, who helps make decisions for the community. Since 2015, the mayor has been Amadeo Rosell Martí.
