It is not a city, but a special area called a census-designated place (CDP). In 2020, about 2,952 people lived in Llano Grande. It is part of a larger group of towns and cities known as the McAllen-Edinburg-Mission Metropolitan Statistical Area. This area includes several nearby cities and their surrounding communities.
