Lloyd Patterson was born on March 26, 1957. He grew up in Memphis, Tennessee, where he went to Hamilton High School. He loved playing football there.
Playing for the Memphis State Tigers
After high school, Lloyd Patterson went to Memphis State University. He played for their football team, the Memphis State Tigers, for four years. This was from 1975 to 1978. He was a very important player for them.
As a freshman in 1975, he threw for 371 yards. He also ran for 168 yards and scored five touchdowns. In 1976, he had a great year. He threw for 1,563 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also ran for 103 yards and scored seven touchdowns.
Patterson continued to play well in 1977, throwing for 1,336 yards. He scored nine touchdowns that season. In his final year, 1978, he threw for 931 yards. He also scored four rushing touchdowns. His skills as both a passer and a runner made him a special player. In 1996, he was honored for his achievements. He was added to the school's M Club Hall of Fame.
Professional Football Career
After college, Lloyd Patterson joined the Saskatchewan Roughriders. This team plays in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played for them in 1979.

After his football career, Lloyd Patterson started his own business. He opened a laundry and dry cleaning service. It was called J-Jireh Laundry and Cleaners. His business was located in Memphis, Tennessee.
