Lobatos got its name from the Spanish language. It means "wolf cubs". This name might have been chosen because of animals in the area.
A long time ago, in 1902, Lobatos had its own post office. This was important for people to send and receive mail. The post office stayed open for about 18 years, closing in 1920.
