Loch Con is a small, freshwater loch (that's a Scottish word for lake!) found in a beautiful area called Glen Errochty. It's located in Perth and Kinross, right on the edge of the amazing Scottish Highlands. This loch is quite remote, meaning it's a bit far from busy towns, and it's also quite shallow. It has an interesting, irregular shape, almost like a puzzle piece!
Discovering Loch Con
Where is Loch Con?
Loch Con sits in a lovely valley known as Glen Errochty. It's part of the Perth and Kinross region, which is in Scotland. You can find it just north of a larger loch called Loch Errochty. Another tiny loch, Loch Cruinn, is directly north-east of Loch Con.
What Makes Loch Con Special?
Loch Con is a freshwater loch, which means its water is not salty like the ocean. It's known for being quite shallow, with a maximum depth of about 8.8 feet (2.7 meters). Even though it's small, it plays an important role as the starting point for a stream called the Allt Con. This stream flows a short distance southwards towards Loch Errochty.
The loch is also quite remote, making it a peaceful spot. It's a great place to enjoy nature and see the beautiful Scottish landscape.
