Ride Features and Thrills
The Loch Ness Monster roller coaster offers a thrilling adventure. It stands 130 feet (40 meters) tall and sends riders plunging down a 114-foot (35 meter) drop. You'll zoom along the track at speeds up to 60 miles per hour (97 km/h).
Interlocking Loops
A super cool feature of this ride is its two interlocking vertical loops. This means the loops are connected and pass through each other! When it opened in 1978, no other roller coaster had ever done this before. It was a world first!
Twists, Turns, and Tunnels
The ride also includes a special part called a helix tunnel. This is where the track twists and turns inside a dark tunnel. You'll also go up two different chain lift hills during the ride. These lifts pull the train up to the highest points before you zoom down. The entire ride lasts about 2 minutes and 10 seconds.
A Coaster Landmark
The Loch Ness Monster is recognized as an important roller coaster. It has been named an American Coaster Enthusiasts Coaster Landmark. This special title is given to roller coasters that are historically significant or unique. It means the ride is a big part of roller coaster history!
