What's in a Name?
The town of Loco has an interesting name! There are two main ideas about how it got its name.
One idea is that it was named after a plant called locoweed. This plant was common in the area.
Another idea comes from the niece of the town's founder, Albert G. Cranfill. She said the name came from the Latin word locus, which means "place."
