On January 1, 2019, Loigné-sur-Mayenne joined with another area to form a new, larger commune called La Roche-Neuville. So, it's no longer a separate commune on its own.
About Loigné-sur-Mayenne
Loigné-sur-Mayenne was a quiet place in the French countryside. Like many small communes in France, it had its own local government and community life. These communes are the smallest divisions of local government in France.
Over time, some smaller communes in France decide to merge with their neighbors. This can happen to make local government more efficient or to combine resources. Loigné-sur-Mayenne's merger into La Roche-Neuville is an example of this kind of change.
