Lolita is a small community in Jackson County, Texas, United States. It is called a census-designated place (CDP). This means it's a special area defined by the government for counting people. In 2020, about 519 people lived there.

History of Lolita

The area where Lolita is located was first settled in the 1840s. A person named Isaac N. Mitchell started a large farm there.

The community of Lolita officially began in 1909. It was named after Lolita Reese. She was the granddaughter of a brave soldier from the Texas Revolution.

A year later, in 1910, Lolita got its own post office. This made it easier for people to send and receive mail. Also, the St. Louis, Brownsville and Mexico Railway built a special track switch there. This helped trains move between different lines.

After World War II, Lolita started to grow. By 1969, the community had several local businesses.
