History of Loma Linda
Loma Linda started as a group of homes around a golf course and country club. It officially became a village in 1995. The Loma Linda Country Club was first built in 1971 by Joe Blau and Ted Hoffman.
In 2006, a businessman named Bobby Landis bought the golf course, the Village Water Company, and about 2,500 acres (10 km²) of land around it. He also bought the Loma Linda resort and apartment complex.
Later, in 2007, the Country Club was sold again. This time, it was bought by the Quapaw Tribe. The tribe owns and runs the Downstream Casino and Resort, which is very close to Loma Linda. The country club's golf courses were then divided into three new courses: Eagle Creek Golf Club, Bald Eagle Golf Course, and Golden Eagle Golf Courses.
Students in Loma Linda attend schools in the Seneca R-7 school district.
