London, Brighton and South Coast Railway War Memorial facts for kids
The London, Brighton and South Coast Railway War Memorial is a special monument found at London Bridge railway station in London. It was created to remember the brave employees of the London, Brighton & South Coast Railway who served and fought in World War I and World War II.
This memorial was first shown to the public in 1922. It was originally built into a brick wall. When the station was updated in the 2010s, the memorial was given a new frame with modern panels around it.
About the Memorials
This memorial at London Bridge is one of three similar monuments. The London, Brighton & South Coast Railway company put up these memorials to honor their staff. The other two can be found at Brighton and London Victoria stations.
