Lone Tree Corners, also known as Lone Tree, was a small community that used to exist in Bureau County, Illinois, United States. It was located to the east of Bradford.

What Was Lone Tree Corners?

Lone Tree Corners was a community that started in the 1840s. It was named after a very tall oak tree in the area. This tree was about 100 feet (30 meters) tall. People said you could see all the way to Peoria from the top of it!

Why Did the Community Disappear?

Over time, people moved away from Lone Tree Corners. By the 1920s, most of the buildings were taken down. The only building left standing was the Lone Tree School.

The school continued to operate even after most of the community was gone. However, it finally closed its doors in 1942.
