Loopin' Louie is a super fun electronic board game that first came out in 1992. It was designed by Carol Wiseley and published by Milton Bradley. This exciting game even won an award called the Kinderspiel des Jahres in 1994, which means "Children's Game of the Year" in Germany!
The game is usually for 2 to 4 players. However, some creative fans have changed their games to let up to eight people play at once! There's even a special Star Wars version of the game called "Loopin' Chewie," which was made by Hasbro in 2015.
How to Play Loopin' Louie
Loopin' Louie is all about quick reflexes and protecting your chickens! It's a game of skill where you try to keep a flying pilot named Louie from knocking over your tokens.
Setting Up the Game
Before you can play, you need to put the game together. You'll need a screwdriver to build the tall central tower. Louie, who is flying a cool biplane, attaches to the top of this tower.
Around the tower, you connect up to four arms. Each arm has a small barn, three chicken tokens, and a lever. This lever is also called a paddle. To make Louie fly, you'll need two AA batteries for the motor that spins the crane.
Game Rules: Protect Your Chickens!
The main goal of Loopin' Louie is to keep Louie from hitting your chicken tokens. Each player has three chicken tokens on their barn. Louie flies around in circles, dipping down to try and knock them off!
To stop Louie, you need to press your lever at just the right moment. If you time it perfectly, your lever will flip Louie's plane up and away from your chickens. But if Louie hits a chicken token, it falls off your barn and down a canal.
The game continues until only one player has at least one chicken token left. That player is the winner! It's a fast-paced game that requires good timing and quick hands.
