Lorella De Luca (born September 17, 1940 – died January 9, 2014) was a talented Italian actress. She appeared in many films, TV shows, and even lent her voice to characters.
In the 1950s, she was known for playing sweet, innocent young girls in Italian movies. She became famous for these roles in both dramas and comedies.
Lorella was born in Florence, Italy. She started acting at just 14 years old! Her first movie was Il bidone (1955), directed by the famous Federico Fellini. A year later, she had a big breakthrough in the comedy Poor, But Beautiful (1956). She also starred in "Spaghetti Westerns" like A Pistol for Ringo (1965) and The Return of Ringo (1965). These were Western movies made in Italy.

Lorella De Luca's Life and Career
Lorella De Luca was born in Florence, Italy, on September 17, 1940. When she was 14, a film director noticed her and convinced her father that she should try acting. This led to her first movie role in Federico Fellini's Il bidone (1955). In this film, she played Patrizia, the young daughter of a con man.
After her first film, Lorella studied at a famous film school in Rome called the "Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia". The next year, she got a very important role in Dino Risi's movie Poor, But Beautiful (1956). This movie was a huge success and made Lorella one of the most popular young actresses in Italian cinema. People loved her fresh and graceful style.
Lorella often played the role of a sweet and innocent young girl. She appeared in many popular comedies. These included Fathers and Sons (1957) and Doctor and the Healer (1957), both directed by Mario Monicelli. She also starred in Sunday Is Always Sunday (1958) and First Love (1958). In 1958, Lorella also became a performer on a popular TV quiz show called Il Musichiere.
She also had smaller roles in "sword-and-sandal" or "muscleman" films. These were movies set in ancient times, often featuring heroes with strong muscles. In these films, Lorella often played princesses or slave girls, such as in Sheba and the Gladiator (1959).
In the 1960s, Lorella started getting more roles in different types of movies. She even appeared in a few "Spaghetti Westerns." In 1965, she used a different name, "Hally Hammond," for her roles in A Pistol for Ringo and its sequel, The Return of Ringo. Both of these movies were directed by Duccio Tessari, who later became her husband.
Lorella appeared in nine more films directed by Duccio Tessari. After 1967, she had two daughters, Federica and Fiorenza Tessari. She started taking fewer acting roles during this time.
Her last acting roles were in The Fifth Commandment (1978) and a TV mini-series called Nata d'amore in 1984. Lorella was also very involved in her husband's work behind the scenes. She worked as a first assistant director on his last film, There Was a Castle with Forty Dogs (1990). Lorella made one final appearance in the film Bonus malus (1993) and then retired from the film industry after her husband passed away the next year.

Lorella De Luca married director Duccio Tessari in 1971. She starred in a total of nine films that he directed. Besides acting, she also worked behind the scenes as an assistant director on some of his movies. They had two daughters together, Federica and Fiorenza.
Later Years and Death
Lorella De Luca passed away on January 9, 2014, at the age of 73. She had been battling a brain tumor for a long time, which had caused her to lose her eyesight before her death.
