Lorna Laidlaw is an English actress born on February 1, 1963. She is well-known for her roles in popular TV shows. Many people know her as Mrs. Tembe from the BBC medical drama Doctors, where she acted from 2009 to 2019. She also played Aggie Bailey in the ITV drama Coronation Street from 2019 to 2023. Lorna has won awards for her acting, including a Royal Television Society award for Best Actress.

Early TV Roles
From 2002 to 2007, Lorna was a co-presenter on the fun BBC children's show Tikkabilla. She also played Miss Smiley in the CBeebies series Grandpa in My Pocket from 2009 to 2014. In this show, she played a recurring character that children loved.
Starring in Doctors
In 2011, Lorna took on the role of Mrs. Tembe in the BBC drama Doctors. This role became very important for her. She was nominated for many awards for her acting in Doctors, including Best Actress at The British Soap Awards. In 2012, she won the Royal Television Society award for Best Actress. She also won the Best Daytime Star award at the Inside Soap Awards in 2017.
Lorna even tried directing! In 2016, she directed three episodes of Doctors. She left the show in 2019, explaining that she felt she had done all she could with the character of Mrs. Tembe.
Joining Coronation Street
In April 2019, it was announced that Lorna would join the cast of the ITV drama Coronation Street. She first appeared as Aggie Bailey on June 12, 2019. Her character was a series regular, meaning she was in many episodes. Lorna's final appearance as Aggie Bailey was in 2023. She later confirmed that she had decided to leave the role.
