History of Los Ojos

For a while, Los Ojos was also known as Park View. Los Ojos started in 1860. Later, in 1876, another small settlement called Park View began nearby.
A post office opened in Park View in 1877. However, that settlement and its post office didn't last long and were soon closed. In 1880, the post office reopened in Los Ojos, but it kept the original name, Park View.
Because of this, maps often showed Los Ojos as Park View. But in 1971, the people living there asked for the name to be officially changed back to Los Ojos. Their request was approved in 1972.
