Charlotte Jean "Lotta" Hedlund (born March 10, 1944) is an American-Swedish singer. She has lived in Sweden since the late 1960s. Lotta is known for her powerful voice and exciting stage presence. She has been part of several famous music groups.

Her Musical Journey
Lotta Hedlund started her singing career in an American girl group called Sherrys. This group toured Sweden, performing their songs. During one of their tours, they met a very popular Swedish band. This band was called Hep Stars.
Meeting the Hep Stars
The Hep Stars were one of Sweden's biggest groups in the 1960s. Two important members were Benny Andersson and Sven "Svenne" Hedlund. Benny Andersson later became famous as a member of ABBA. Lotta and Svenne Hedlund fell in love and got married. Lotta then joined the Hep Stars herself.
Svenne & Lotta: A Famous Duo
After the Hep Stars, Lotta and Svenne formed a singing duo. They called themselves Svenne & Lotta. In some countries, they were known as "Sven & Charlotte." This duo became very popular in the 1970s.
Eurovision Dreams
In 1975, Svenne & Lotta took part in Melodifestivalen. This is Sweden's competition to choose a song for the Eurovision Song Contest. They sang a song called "Bang en boomerang." The famous men from ABBA wrote this song for them.
Svenne & Lotta also recorded the song in English. It was called "Bang a boomerang." This version became a hit in many European countries. Later, ABBA recorded their own version of the song for one of their albums.
Success in Denmark
Svenne & Lotta became incredibly popular in Denmark. They were one of the best-selling music groups there. They even recorded a song in the Danish language. Lotta and Svenne toured Sweden for many years. They performed as a duo and sometimes as solo artists.

Lotta Hedlund was married to Swedish singer Svenne Hedlund. They were married for a long time, from 1969 until 2014. Today, Lotta lives in a town called Sävsjö. It is located in Småland, a region in southern Sweden.
