Louise Pickard (born 12 December 1865 – died 6 June 1928) was an English artist. She was known for painting different types of art, including still life, landscapes, and portraits.

Louise Pickard was born in a city called Kingston upon Hull in England. She loved art and decided to study it at the famous Slade School of Art in London. This was between 1898 and 1900. After that, she also spent some time in Paris, France, where she studied sculpture.

Her Art Exhibitions

Louise Pickard was a talented artist, and her work was shown in many important art exhibitions. An exhibition is like a special show where artists display their paintings for people to see and sometimes buy.

She showed her paintings at the Royal Academy in London eight times! This was between 1909 and when she passed away in 1928. The Royal Academy is a very important place for artists in England.

Pickard also exhibited her art with the New English Art Club. She first showed her work there in 1909 and later became a member in 1923. She also displayed her art with a group called the International Society of Sculptors, Painters and Gravers. In 1924, her paintings were part of a special show at the Goupil Gallery in London, alongside other artists like Charles Ginner and Ethel Walker.

Where She Worked and Her Legacy

For many years, Louise Pickard had her own art studio in Chelsea, a part of London. She also found inspiration and worked in other beautiful places, like the French Riviera and North Yorkshire.

Today, you can still see her paintings in several museums and art galleries across the United Kingdom. Some of these include the Ferens Art Gallery, Cartwright Hall, and the famous Tate galleries.

Louise Pickard passed away in London in 1928. After her death, the Alpine Club Gallery held a special exhibition to remember her and her wonderful art.
