Lovel Palmer, born on August 30, 1984, is a talented footballer from Jamaica. He plays as a defender, helping to protect his team's goal, and also as a midfielder, who helps both defend and attack. He currently plays for the Harbour View team in Jamaica.

Lovel Palmer's Football Journey
Starting in Youth Football
Lovel Palmer started his football journey in his home country, Jamaica. He played for the St. Elizabeth Technical High School football team. In 1995, he joined a team called Essex Valley FC.
In 1998, when he was with Essex Valley, Lovel got to play in a special international youth tournament in Norway. He played for several youth teams at Essex Valley before joining the youth program of Harbour View in January 1999.
Playing for Clubs
Lovel Palmer won important titles with Harbour View. These included the Premier League and the Caribbean Club Championship in 1995 and 2004. He also played for W Connection on loan in 2004. During that time, he played in eleven games and scored two goals.
After his loan, Lovel returned to Harbour View in December 2004. He quickly became a leader and captain for the team. He led Harbour View to win the Jamaica National Premier League in the 2007-2008 season.
On March 19, 2010, Lovel moved to the Major League Soccer (MLS) in the United States. He joined the Houston Dynamo team. The details of this move were not shared publicly.
In July 2011, Lovel was traded to the Portland Timbers. This trade also involved another player, Mike Chabala, and an international roster spot. In return, Houston received Adam Moffat and some money.
After the 2012 season, Portland decided not to keep Lovel. He then joined the 2012 MLS Re-Entry Draft. On December 14, 2012, Real Salt Lake chose him in the second stage of the draft. In the 2013 MLS Cup final, Lovel missed a penalty kick during a shootout, which meant Sporting Kansas City won the league title. A few days later, Real Salt Lake traded him to Chicago Fire.
After playing for Chicago for two years, Lovel signed with Indy Eleven in the North American Soccer League on January 12, 2016.
He then signed with Miami FC on August 14, 2017, after leaving Indy Eleven.
In June 2018, Lovel joined Des Moines Menace in the USL PDL league. He left the club at the end of that season.
In June 2021, Lovel Palmer made a return to professional football. He rejoined his former team, Harbour View, in the Jamaican Premier League.
Playing for His Country
Lovel Palmer also played for Jamaica's national football teams. He represented his country at the Under-17, Under-20, and Under-23 levels. He has been a member of the senior Jamaica national football team since 2005.
