Lubanki facts for kids
Lubanki, also called Labanki, is a language spoken by a group of people known as the Lubanas. It belongs to the Indo-Aryan language family, which includes many languages spoken in India and Pakistan. Lubanki is mainly spoken in parts of India, especially in the Rajasthan and Gujarat areas, and also in some parts of Pakistan.
Lubanki is considered a type, or dialect, of the Punjabi language. A dialect is a different way of speaking a language that is used in a specific area or by a certain group of people.
What is Lubanki?
Lubanki is a unique language that has been part of the culture of the Lubana people for a long time. It is known for some special words. For example, the Punjabi word tanda, which means a town or a settlement, is thought to have come from the Lubanki language.
Why is Lubanki special?
Lubanki holds a special place in history. There is a famous story about Guru Tegh Bahadur, an important spiritual leader. When he was found by a person named Baba Makhan Shah Labana, Baba Makhan Shah climbed onto a roof. He then shouted a famous phrase: "Guru ladho rae!" This means "The Guru has been found!" People believe that this important phrase was spoken in the Lubanki dialect.
The Future of Lubanki
Sadly, the Lubanki language is now very rare. It is considered almost extinct, which means very few people still speak it. Over time, the language lost its importance, and most Lubanas started speaking other forms of Punjabi as their main language. This happens when a language is not used much anymore, and younger generations learn other languages instead.
