Lucas Riva Amarante "Bebê" Nogueira, born on July 26, 1992, is a former professional basketball player from Brazil. He was chosen by the Boston Celtics in the 2013 NBA draft. Later, his draft rights were traded to the Atlanta Hawks. In 2014, his rights were traded again to the Toronto Raptors.

Lucas Nogueira's Basketball Journey
Playing in Spain: Liga ACB
From 2009 to 2011, Lucas Nogueira played for the junior team of CB Estudiantes in Spain. In 2011, he was loaned to CB Las Rozas for one season. He then returned to CB Estudiantes in January 2012. He continued playing for them during the 2012–13 season.
On June 27, 2013, Nogueira signed a two-year contract extension with Estudiantes. He was recognized as the ACB's Best Defender for the 2013–14 season.
NBA Career with the Toronto Raptors
On April 17, 2013, Nogueira announced he would enter the 2013 NBA draft. He was picked 16th overall by the Boston Celtics. His draft rights were then traded to the Atlanta Hawks. In July 2013, Nogueira played for the Hawks in the NBA Summer League.
On June 30, 2014, Nogueira's draft rights were traded to the Toronto Raptors. This trade also included player Lou Williams. In July 2014, Nogueira joined the Raptors for the NBA Summer League. He officially signed with the Raptors on August 3, 2014.
First NBA Games
Nogueira made his NBA debut on November 21, 2014, against the Milwaukee Bucks. He played for eight minutes, scoring two points and grabbing five rebounds. On March 12, 2015, he was sent to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. This team is part of the NBA Development League. He was called back to the Raptors on March 26, 2015.
Developing His Game
In July 2015, Nogueira played for the Raptors again in the NBA Summer League. On September 29, 2015, the Raptors extended his contract through the 2016–17 season. On December 5, 2015, he scored a career-high 14 points. This was during a close game against the Golden State Warriors. During the 2015–16 season, he also played several games for Raptors 905. This is the Raptors' team in the NBA Development League.
On October 23, 2016, his contract was extended again through the 2017–18 season. On November 9, 2016, he scored 10 points and had seven rebounds. This helped the Raptors win against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Three days later, he had six points, 10 rebounds, and a career-high five blocked shots. This was in a win against the New York Knicks.
On October 30, 2017, Nogueira scored a new career-high of 17 points. This helped the Raptors win against the Portland Trail Blazers. After the 2017–2018 season, the Raptors did not offer him a new contract. He became a free agent, meaning he could sign with any team.
Returning to Spain and Retirement
On September 19, 2018, Nogueira signed with Montakit Fuenlabrada in Spain. In early 2020, he joined Al-Muharraq in Bahrain.
In October 2020, he joined Cearense in Brazil. However, on February 3, 2021, Nogueira announced he was retiring from basketball. This decision was due to injuries he had during his career.
Coming Back to Play
On August 21, 2021, Nogueira returned to basketball. He signed with São Paulo FC in Brazil. In 2022, Nogueira signed a contract to play in Canada. He joined the Guelph Nighthawks of the CEBL.

Playing for Brazil
Nogueira played for the Brazilian Under-19 national team. This was at the 2011 FIBA Under-19 World Championship. He was one of the top players in rebounds and blocks per game. He has also been a member of the main Brazilian national basketball team.

Lucas Nogueira has a daughter named Stella. He also holds a Spanish passport.
