Luciane Buchanan was born on July 18, 1993, in Auckland, New Zealand. She grew up in a part of Auckland called Herne Bay. Her family has roots in Tonga and Scotland. Even though her family could speak the Tongan language, her mother wanted her to learn English completely. This was because of the challenges faced by Pacific Islanders in their community.

Luciane's Acting Journey

Luciane's first acting role was in a TV movie called Billy in 2011. She did not take acting classes right away. Instead, she learned a lot by practicing on different film sets. Later, she took formal acting classes at the Auckland Performing Arts Centre (TAPAC). She even studied with famous acting coach Miranda Harcourt.

In 2017, Luciane graduated from the University of Auckland. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Drama and Psychology. In 2024, she made a short film about her own life called Lea Tupu'anga / Mother Tongue.
