Lucius Wimbush (born 1839, died 1872) was an important leader, businessman, and public official. He was born into slavery but gained his freedom. After that, he became a state senator in South Carolina during a time called the Reconstruction Era. This was a period after the American Civil War when the country was rebuilt.

Lucius Wimbush was chosen to represent Chester County in the South Carolina Senate. He was also the secretary of the Chester Union League, a group that helped African Americans become active in politics. He is buried in Randolph Cemetery, where many other important leaders from the Reconstruction Era are also laid to rest.

Lucius Wimbush was born in South Carolina. For a time, he worked as a personal assistant, or "body servant," for Matthew C. Butler at the University of South Carolina.
