Acting Career

Becoming Bethany Platt in Coronation Street

Lucy Fallon started her acting career in 2015. She got the part of Bethany Platt in the ITV TV show Coronation Street. Bethany is the daughter of Sarah Platt, played by Tina O'Brien. Bethany Platt was a character who had been on the show before. Other child actors had played her when she was younger.

Lucy was 19 years old when she was chosen to play 14-year-old Bethany. She got the role after the first actress chosen, Katie Redford, had not been honest about her age.

Lucy described Bethany as "a bit of a wild child." She also said Bethany was "very feisty." People had different ideas about Lucy in the role. Some thought she was "perfect" for the part. Others felt she looked "far too old" for a 14-year-old.

Lucy's acting in the show was highly praised. One critic said her performance was "immaculate." Another wrote that she showed what a "fine actress she has become." This was especially true in scenes where Bethany had to testify in court.

Lucy won several awards for playing Bethany Platt. She won Best Actress at the 2017 Inside Soap Awards. She also won Outstanding Serial Drama Performance at the 2018 National Television Awards. At the 2018 British Soap Awards, she won Best Actress and Best Female Dramatic Performance.
