Ludmannsdorf (called Bilčovs in Slovene) is a town in Austria. It is located in the state of Carinthia. The town is part of the Klagenfurt-Land district. It is known for its mix of cultures, especially Austrian and Slovene traditions.

Geography of Ludmannsdorf

Ludmannsdorf is located in the southern part of Austria. It sits on the left bank of the Drava river. This river is an important waterway in the region.

People of Ludmannsdorf

In 2001, a census showed that about 28.3% of the people living in Ludmannsdorf were Carinthian Slovenes. These are people who speak the Slovene language and have Slovene cultural roots.

Voting History in Ludmannsdorf

After World War I, in 1920, there was a special vote called the Carinthian Plebiscite. People in some areas of Carinthia voted on whether to join Austria or the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes (which later became Yugoslavia). In Ludmannsdorf, a large majority of people, about 79%, voted to join the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes. However, the area remained part of Austria.
