Luís Doreste Blanco was born on March 7, 1961, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain. He is a famous Spanish sailor. Luis is known for winning two gold medals at the Summer Olympics.
He won his first gold medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. This was in the 470 class boat. His second gold medal came at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona. This time, he competed in the Flying Dutchman class.
Luis Doreste is a member of the Real Club Náutico de Gran Canaria. He has achieved many other great things in sailing.
