Luis Manuel Seijas Gunther (born on June 23, 1986) is a retired Venezuelan footballer. He played as a midfielder, which is a player who helps both defend and attack on the field. Seijas had a long and successful career playing for many different clubs and also represented his home country, Venezuela, in international matches.

Club Journey: Playing for Different Teams
Luis Seijas started his football journey in Venezuela with youth teams. After showing great skill, he moved to Argentina to play for a club called Banfield. He then returned to Venezuela and made a big impression playing for Deportivo Táchira.
Joining Santa Fe and Moving to Europe
Seijas later joined Santa Fe, a team in Colombia. He played there for several years and became a very important player. In 2011, he signed a three-year contract with a big Belgian club, Standard Liège. This was a big step in his career, playing in Europe.
Returning to South America
After his time in Belgium, Seijas returned to South America. He played briefly for Deportivo Quito in Ecuador. Then, in 2014, he rejoined his former club, Santa Fe, in Colombia. This second time with Santa Fe was very successful. He was part of the team that won the 2015 Copa Sudamericana, which is a major football tournament in South America.
Later Career and Retirement
In 2016, Seijas moved to Brazil to play for Internacional. He also had a loan spell at Chapecoense before returning to Santa Fe for a third time in 2018. Towards the end of his career, he played for Phoenix Rising FC in the United States, signing with them in 2021. He retired from professional football after a long and exciting career.
Playing for His Country: Venezuela
Luis Seijas also proudly represented his country, Venezuela, in international football. He made many appearances for the senior national team, playing in 69 matches since his debut in 2006. He scored two goals for Venezuela during his international career. One goal was in a friendly match against Moldova in 2012, and the other was in a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualification game against Paraguay in 2013.
