Luka's Early Life and Music
Luka Nižetić was born in Split, a city in Croatia. He grew up there with his sister, Petra. His parents noticed he loved music from a very young age.
Learning Music
Because of his interest, Luka started learning music early. A nun named Cecilia taught him how to play the piano. When he was about 11 years old, a music teacher named Mišo Linić began giving him singing lessons. This teacher also taught Luka the basics of writing his own songs. An opera singer, Sanja Erceg–Vrekalo, helped him learn special singing techniques.
First Song and Award
When Luka was around 17, he wrote his first song called "Ludi grad" (which means "Oh Crazy Town"). A famous composer, Zdenko Runjić, included this song in a music festival in 2001. Everyone was surprised when Luka won three Silver Seagulls, which was the second prize from the expert judges!

Becoming Well-Known

Hit Songs and Festivals
In 2006, Luka had a big hit song called "Prava ljubav" (True Love). He sang this song with Lana Jurčević at the Croatian Radio Festival. It quickly became one of the most popular songs in Croatia. Later that year, at the Light Music Festival in Split, he performed "More" (The Sea). He won the Golden Sail award for this song. The audience loved his performance, placing him first in one part of the festival and third overall in the final.
