Lumière Place is a casino hotel located in St. Louis, Missouri. It is owned by Gaming and Leisure Properties and operated by Caesars Entertainment. This fun resort offers a casino, hotels, and entertainment.

History of Lumière Place

Lumière Place opened its doors on December 19, 2007. It is located in downtown St. Louis. The resort has great views of the Mississippi River. It is also close to famous landmarks. These include the Gateway Arch and Busch Stadium.

Lumière Place has two hotels for guests. One is called HoteLumière. The other is the Four Seasons St. Louis. The Four Seasons is very special. It is the only hotel in Missouri to win the AAA Five Diamond Award.

In 2013, Lumière Place won an award. Readers of the Riverfront Times voted it "Best Casino." In 2014, it hosted a big poker event. This was a World Series of Poker Circuit tournament.

Over the years, Lumière Place has had different owners. In 2014, a company called Tropicana Entertainment bought it. Later, in 2018, Tropicana sold it to Eldorado Resorts. Eldorado Resorts is now known as Caesars Entertainment.

In 2020, Gaming and Leisure Properties (GLP) became the owner. They then leased the property back to Caesars Entertainment. This means Caesars still runs the casino and hotels.

What You'll Find at Lumière Place

Lumière Place has a large casino area. It is about 75,000-square-foot (7,000 m2) in size. Here, you can find many slot machines and gaming tables. There is also a special room for poker players.

The HoteLumière has 294 suites for guests. The Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis is 19 stories tall. It has 200 rooms, including 14 suites.

The resort also has a theater. It is called the Lumière Theatre. It can seat 453 people. Many famous performers have played here. These include The Go-Go's and Joan Rivers. It has also hosted boxing matches. Even an episode of TLC’s Cake Boss was filmed here. Buddy Valastro made a huge cake for the show. It weighed 700-pound (320 kg)!

The design of Lumière Place is quite clever. It was designed by Marnell Corrao Associates. This firm also designed the Bellagio in Las Vegas. The casino floor seems like a normal building. But it is actually floating! It sits on a thick concrete raft. This raft floats in a basin filled with over 1.5 million gallons of water. This design helps it follow state laws. These laws say that gambling must happen on a floating platform.
