Lydia Byam was born in Antigua. Her father, William Byam, was a lawyer and an important person in Antigua's government. Her mother was Martha Rogers. Lydia was baptized on September 4, 1772. We don't know exactly when she died, but it was at sea.

Her Famous Works
Lydia Byam published two important books filled with her plant drawings. These books were published without her name on them, but they were dedicated to a distant relative, Viscountess Galway.
