Lyn Hancock is an amazing Australian-Canadian writer, photojournalist (someone who tells stories with pictures), and wildlife photographer (someone who takes pictures of animals in nature). She is famous for her books about animals and her adventures.

Lyn has a very special talent: she has raised many orphaned wild animals! Imagine living with baby bears, cougars, eagles, puffins, raccoons, and even seals. Her incredible experiences with these animals became the stories for her 20 books. Some of her most famous books include There's a Seal in my Sleeping Bag, There's a Raccoon in my Parka, Love Affair with a Cougar, and Tabasco the Saucy Raccoon.

She has also written exciting travel books. These books describe her journeys and adventures in the wild and beautiful Canadian North.

Simon Fraser University recognized her amazing work. In 2009, they gave her one of their Outstanding Alumni Awards for Arts & Culture. This award celebrates people who have done great things in art and culture.
