Lyndsy Marie Fonseca (born January 7, 1987) is an American actress. She started her acting journey on the TV show The Young and the Restless from 2001 to 2005. After that, she appeared in many popular TV series.
Some of her well-known roles include Penny Mosby on How I Met Your Mother, Donna on Big Love, and Dylan Mayfair on Desperate Housewives. From 2010 to 2013, Lyndsy starred as Alex Udinov in Nikita. She also played Angie Martinelli on Agent Carter from 2015 to 2016. Lyndsy has also been in movies like Hot Tub Time Machine (2010) and Kick-Ass (2010), plus its sequel in 2013.

Lyndsy's Early Life
Lyndsy Marie Fonseca was born on January 7, 1987, in Oakland, California, USA. Her parents are Lima Lynn and James Victor Fonseca. She has mentioned that she is "half Portuguese." Her grandmother was an artist who made beautiful quilts and stained glass.
Lyndsy's parents divorced when she was two years old. Her mother, Lima, who is a psychologist, later married Reid Dworkin. Lyndsy has a half-sister through this marriage. Lyndsy took a course at the Barbizon Modeling and Acting School in San Francisco. When she was 12, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting. Soon after, she got her first TV role on the soap opera The Young and the Restless.
Lyndsy's Acting Career
In 2005, Lyndsy Fonseca had a recurring role as Ted Mosby's future daughter on the popular show How I Met Your Mother. She also played Donna on HBO's Big Love. That same year, she starred in the Hallmark TV movie Ordinary Miracles. In this film, she played a 16-year-old who goes to live with a judge.
Joining Desperate Housewives
In late 2007, Lyndsy appeared in the film Remember the Daze. She then joined the cast of ABC's Desperate Housewives for its fourth season. She played Dylan Mayfair, the daughter of Katherine Mayfair. In 2008, Lyndsy and the cast of Desperate Housewives were nominated for an award. This was for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Action Roles and Recent Work
Lyndsy Fonseca played Katie Deauxma in the 2010 superhero film Kick-Ass. She also appeared in three other American films in 2010, including Hot Tub Time Machine. In 2010, Lyndsy got a main role in CW's TV series Nikita. She played Alex, a new recruit, for all four seasons of the show. Her future husband, Noah Bean, was also part of the Nikita cast.
In 2021, Lyndsy starred in the Disney+ series Turner & Hooch. This show was a remake of the 1989 movie with the same name.

Lyndsy Fonseca married Matthew Smiley in April 2009. They separated in July 2012, and Lyndsy filed for divorce in 2013.
In February 2016, Lyndsy announced her engagement to Noah Bean, her co-star from Nikita. They got married on October 2, 2016, in Connecticut. Lyndsy and Noah have two daughters. Their first daughter was born in February 2018, and their second daughter was born in June 2022.
