Lyubov Ivanovna Yegorova (born May 5, 1966) is a famous Russian former cross-country skier. She is known for winning many medals at the Olympic Games and World Championships. She was also a winner of the World Cup in 1993.
Lyubov Yegorova has been honored as a Hero of Russia, which is a very high award. She is also an honorary citizen of several cities and regions in Russia, like Seversk and Saint Petersburg.

Skiing Achievements
Lyubov Yegorova had an amazing career in cross-country skiing. This sport involves skiing across different types of terrain, often over long distances.
World Championship Success
Yegorova won several medals at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships. These championships bring together the best skiers from around the world.
- She earned three gold medals: two in the 4 × 5 km relay race (in 1991 and 1993) and one in the 30 km race (in 1991).
- She also won one silver medal in the 5 km race (in 1993).
- In 1993, she took home two bronze medals: one in the 5 km + 10 km combined pursuit and another in the 30 km race.
Olympic Games Glory

A Difficult Moment
After the 1997 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Trondheim, Norway, Lyubov Yegorova faced a challenge. She was disqualified from a race for using a banned substance. This meant she lost the gold medal she had won in the 5 km event. After this, she decided to take a break from the sport.
Returning to the Snow
After her suspension, Yegorova returned to compete. She even participated in the 2002 Winter Olympics. Although she didn't win any medals at those Games, it showed her dedication to the sport.
