Lyudmyla Oleksandrivna Yanukovych (born 9 October 1949) is known as the former wife of Viktor Yanukovych, who was once the President of Ukraine. She also served as the First Lady of Ukraine.

Early Life and Education

Lyudmyla Oleksandrivna Nastenko was born in a city called Yenakiieve in the Donetsk Oblast region of Ukraine. This was on October 9, 1949. She went to college at the Donbas National Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture. There, she studied to become an engineer.

Career and Family Life

After finishing her studies, Lyudmyla worked at a large factory called Yenakiyeve Iron and Steel Works. She was part of a team that designed and checked plans for buildings and other projects. She was a specialist in construction.

In 1971, she married Viktor Yanukovych. They had two sons together, named Oleksandr and Viktor. They also have three grandsons. Her younger son, Viktor, was a member of the Ukrainian Parliament for several years. Lyudmyla and Viktor Yanukovych later divorced.

Life as First Lady

When her husband, Viktor Yanukovych, became President of Ukraine in 2010, Lyudmyla became the country's First Lady. This role often involves supporting the president and representing the nation at various events. She held this position until 2014. After this time, she reportedly moved to Crimea.
