The Lévesque River is a small river in Quebec, Canada. It flows into Lake Saint-Pierre, which is part of the big St. Lawrence River. This river passes through the towns of Saint-Elphège, Pierreville, and Baie-du-Febvre. These towns are in the Nicolet-Yamaska Regional County Municipality in the Centre-du-Québec area.
About the Lévesque River
The Lévesque River is about 11.8 kilometers (7.3 miles) long. It starts from small streams in farm and forest areas. These streams include the Fortunat-Veilleux stream and the Bourassa discharge. They drain water from an area near the Saint-François River.
Where the River Flows
The Lévesque River flows towards the northwest. It runs parallel to the Saint-François River on its east side. It also runs parallel to the Colbert River on its west side.
The river flows through many farms in the towns of Saint-Elphège, Pierreville, and Baie-du-Febvre. It crosses several roads, like Route 226 and Route 132.
River's End Point
The Lévesque River finally empties into Lake Saint-Pierre. This lake is on the south side of the St. Lawrence River. The river's mouth is west of a small bay called "Le Fer à Cheval." This bay is a special resting place for birds. It is also west of the village of Baie-du-Febvre.
