About the Lévesque River

The Lévesque River is about 11.8 kilometers (7.3 miles) long. It starts from small streams in farm and forest areas. These streams include the Fortunat-Veilleux stream and the Bourassa discharge. They drain water from an area near the Saint-François River.

Where the River Flows

The Lévesque River flows towards the northwest. It runs parallel to the Saint-François River on its east side. It also runs parallel to the Colbert River on its west side.

The river flows through many farms in the towns of Saint-Elphège, Pierreville, and Baie-du-Febvre. It crosses several roads, like Route 226 and Route 132.

River's End Point

The Lévesque River finally empties into Lake Saint-Pierre. This lake is on the south side of the St. Lawrence River. The river's mouth is west of a small bay called "Le Fer à Cheval." This bay is a special resting place for birds. It is also west of the village of Baie-du-Febvre.
